The original 78 records (which were close to 100 years old at the time) were sent to a sound engineer in Hollywood, California. All of the background sounds such as clicks, hisses, crackles, etc. were removed and the result was excellent. The critical aspect was to know at what speed to play the 78 rpm records to achieve the the best sound quality. My goal was to preserve the spoken word as Sicilian was spoken at the turn of the 20th century, to share the entertainment value of the comedic genius that was Giovanni De Rosalia (author, playwright and creator of "Nofrio" and to cover my expenses plus a small profit.
