Here we go with the report about what happened in our world during the year 2010. Just have a look at our post for the 2009 so you can make a useful comparison.
It was a revolutionary year because we made the big jump and switched to the all-english version of the blog you are reading now. Our first post in the new language was the exclusive interview with Tim Prebble about the launch of his new project HISS and a ROAR on 15th of April. All the previous articles were written in the italian language, so our statistical data must be read under this double perspective.
The numbers for this year are the following:
number of total visits: 57455, which is approximately 32% more than the last year;
page views: 89.612;
average time on site: 1 minute and 23 seconds;
top traffic source: once again the website which caused the most of the traffic is Facebook, especially thanks to the sounDesign official page and our personal profiles (Gianpaolo and Sara);
search engines: Google.com again, it’s responsible for more than 50% of total users;
the keyword for search engines which took the most of visits was sound design again;
mondo mobile: 2% of visits came from mobile devices (iPhone for first…);
mondo real-time: we exceeded more than 900 followers on Twitter.
During the past year we witnessed many interesting events and phenomenons, but according to our opinion two were the most important trends in the world of Sound: the distribution of high quality SFX libraries via the Internet (for example: Haptic Audio, Rabbit Ears Audio, Chuck Russom FX, etc.) and the unexpected rising of many web projects dedicated to the creation of a community of sound professionals (Social Sound Design and Sonic Terrain for first).
