This year Nodar Residency Program is open to art projects centred in the human voice, which work with issues such as the origin, meaning and relationship with the sacred (reconnected to its ancestral meaning of mystery and symbol), thevoice as a pivotal element of rituals, customs and superstitions, able to enchant the listener and bring deep changes to the reality, to the communities and territory, the voice as the protagonist of memories, myths, archetypes, folk wisdom handed down through the centuries, or even the voice of everyday, tool for work and life.

Artistic Disciplines admitted to the selection:

Sound Poetry; Vocal Performance; Sound Art; Phonography; Acoustic, Electroacoustic or Electronic Composition / Improvisation; Radio Art; Video Performance.

i-Park Residency Program

I-Park è il buen retiro degli artisti, 450 acri nelle foreste dello East Haddam, Connecticut. C’è tempo fino all’11 gennaio per candidarsi come artist in residence in vari campi, a noi interessano quello della composizione musicale e della environmental art (che può essere legato al suono).
Rispetto agli anni passati, alcuni cambiamenti: le residenze saranno per un massimo di 8 settimane, aumentano invece i grants per gli artisti internazionali al fine di coprire anche tutte le spese di viaggio. A disposizione di ogni artista, uno studio privato, stanza cucina eccetera eccetera, oltre naturalmente ai 450 acri di cui sopra…

Nodar Residency Program

La comunità rurale portoghese di Nodar si trova a circa 150 km da Oporto, tra le montagne di Montemuro e di Gralheria e lungo il corso del fiume Paiva, che caratterizza fortemente il soundscape del luogo. Il Nodar Artist Residency Center in collaborazione con la fondazione Binaural organizza, da marzo a novembre in modo continuativo, residenze per artisti interessati ad esplorare il paesaggio sonoro locale. A carico dell’artista solo il viaggio per e da Nodar, a sua disposizione due studi completamente equipaggiati per lavorare su audio e video, ed uno spazio per installazioni e performance.
